‘Our Senegalese values are the cornerstones of the Gospel’: the Catholic Church presents its vision of social cohesion
Father Alphonse Birame Ndour, episcopal delegate for interreligious dialogue, represented Archbishop André Guèye of Dakar at the national workshop on religious discourse organised by the Presidency of the Republic. For three days, from 21 to 23 October at the Palm Beach Hotel in Saly, the country’s various religious families reflected together on the role of religious discourse in consolidating citizenship and social cohesion.
The Catholic Church’s contribution, the result of a collective effort involving three of the archbishop’s colleagues, offered an original interpretation of the links between Senegalese culture and the Christian faith.
The monks of Keur Moussa in Senegal met the General Khalif of the Mourides.
This visit is part of an international interfaith meeting to be held in Senegal in January 2026. The monks asked the Khalif to welcome foreign delegations for Friday prayers in Touba and a conference led by someone from the community.
