Representatives of Catholic Action from several Euro-Mediterranean countries recently gathered online for a FIAC meeting dedicated to sharing experiences of synodality in practice. Rooted in prayer and fraternity, the encounter offered a valuable space for dialogue, mutual listening, and discernment.

Participants from Malta, Romania, Spain, Italy, Albania, and Switzerland reflected on their local realities, highlighting both common challenges and diverse approaches.

Key themes included the sustainability of lay commitment, the importance of clear roles and communication, the need to value lay expertise, and the responsibility to involve young people not only in activities, but also in discernment and decision-making processes. The exchanges showed that synodality is lived concretely through honesty, respect for limits, and a shared sense of responsibility.

Despite different contexts and resources, all contributions expressed a common desire to build a Church that listens, accompanies, and walks together.

This Euro-Mediterranean meeting reaffirmed FIAC’s role as a space of communion and collaboration, encouraging Catholic Action movements to continue growing together in a synodal style, attentive to people, processes, and the long-term mission of the Church.
