From 8 to 9 December 2025 in Bujumbura, Burundi, a meeting was held of the Episcopal Commission for the Laity, Family and Life for pastoral development.
The commission includes diocesan priests responsible persons of the apostolate of the laity (among them the Mouvements of Catholic Action – MAC), diocesan family ministry and the defence of life.
Part of the meeting was devoted to exploring the theme: ‘And you too will be my witnesses, for you have been with me from the beginning’ (Jn 15:27).
Monsignor Salvator Niciteretse, Bishop of Bururi President of the Commission and Coordinator of FIAC Africa, opened the assembly. The assembly was chaired by Father Savin Ndereyimana, Secretary General of CELFV.
During the meeting, the results of the 2024-2025 pastoral year were presented. In particular, the activities carried out by the dioceses were recalled and the activities for the coming year were launched.
