“Democracy Week” is the theme of the week from 20 to 25 October 2025. As the “Katholische Aktion Österreich” management distributed its democracy dossiers in front of St. Stephen’s Cathedral on Monday, engaged in conversation with people, and were also ignored. A Bavarian couple visiting Vienna happily picked it up and said, “I think what you’re advocating here in Austria also applies to us in Germany.
Thank you, we’ll study it this evening.” Both energy and necessity were palpable. “I’m surprised the church is doing something about this,” said a sales manager, for example.
