With the joy that springs from Easter, Catholic Action Argentina gives thanks for its 95 years of existence, having accompanied the growth in the faith of so many lay men and women of all ages across the country who wish to live as missionary disciples of Jesus in their daily lives.
It longs to continue as a school of holiness for Christians who, having encountered Christ, have the courage to proclaim through their lives and from their lives its meaning and the beauty of the faith, showing that there is another way of living together, of human relationships, of work, of love, of power and service.
Walking together, in and with the Church, in every diocese where it is present, it continues to be renewed by the impulse of the Holy Spirit to be a missionary community of disciples, vitally prophetic in responding to the signs of the times, to the hopes, joys and sorrows of every brother and sister, through the proclamation and the work inspired by the Gospel of Jesus.
It wishes to offer communities of the diocesan laity that take root in parishes as spaces that inspire and heal, “places where one can renew one’s faith in the crucified and risen Jesus, where one can share one’s deepest questions and daily concerns, where one can discern deeply, using Gospel criteria, one’s own existence and experience, with the aim of orienting one’s individual and social choices towards goodness and beauty”.
Committed to this hour, it wishes to be a bridge to overcome misunderstandings, a voice to denounce injustices, an embrace to support vulnerabilities, ears to listen even to silences, hands to build a just, fraternal, inclusive and peaceful society.
Open to encountering everyone, everyone, everyone, it wishes to say ‘yes’ like Mary, and like her, to welcome the new and, with a Samaritan heart, to go out to meet our brothers and sisters.
Sustained by the grateful memory of its blessed, venerable, servants of God and faithful witnesses, it wishes to imitate their passion for the Gospel and their works, inspired by charity and hope.
Catholic Action Argentina “is mission” and wishes to continue to be so.
