A Caress for the Holy Land
The slogan of January 2026, “Terra in Pace” (Earth in Peace) stems from a reflection that unites two profound dimensions of our faith: the liturgical dimension, rooted in the hymn of joy that involves all humanity (‘Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to those on whom his favour rests’ (Lk 2:14), and the daily dimension, open to the responsibility of caring for our common home as a place of coexistence and fraternity.
The logo that will accompany the association’s peace initiative features the planet Earth in the centre, symbolising our common home and all humanity, surrounded by two arrows that meet in a harmonious movement. The arrows indicate the double meaning of the slogan: Earth in Peace and Peace on Earth, thus also recalling the link between the gift of peace that comes from above and man’s responsibility to safeguard it in everyday life.
Seen from space, planet Earth has no borders or divisions: it is an expanse of colours, seas and intertwined lands, inhabited by one large human family. Seen “from above”, a metaphor for a view that transcends borders and barriers, the Earth appears as a single community. Looking from space is an invitation to change our perspective, to overcome what separates us and rediscover what unites us. It is an exercise in peace that translates into the ability to look at things with new eyes, even in the face of daily misunderstandings and conflicts, in relationships, in communities, in the small worlds we inhabit every day.
