Families of today and tomorrow. Ecclesiological and pastoral challenges
The days of work and reflection brought together 40 experts from different countries around the world to analyse the reality of families today and the change of perspective that will help us propose evangelisation that responds to the signs of the times.
The Holy Father sent a message to the participants in which he encouraged them to focus their efforts on ‘paying special attention to those families who, for various reasons, are spiritually more distant: those who do not feel involved, who say they are not interested or who feel excluded from the common paths, but who nevertheless desire to be part of a community in which to grow and walk together.’

Under this premise, various speakers introduced perspectives for small group spiritual conversations, leading to the proposal of new perspectives on which the Dicastery will continue to work in order to offer guidance in this pastoral field.
Present at the coordination of the Seminar were the Secretary of the Dicastery, Gleison De Paula Souzala; the Pro-Secretary, Gabriela Gambino; the Prot- secretary, Linda Ghisoni; Monsignor Dario Gervasi; Father Giacomo Costa SJ of the Synod Secretariat; several officials of the Dicastery; and collaborators of the Synod, who served as moderators of the groups.
The prefect of the body, Cardinal Farrel, sent his greetings and words to the participants, inviting us to change our perspective on the challenges of the present and the new generations.
